Prowers Medical Center
- Emergency Department Expansion – 4,700 sf
- Surgery Department Expansion – 4,900 sf
- New Physical Therapy Gym – 2,500 sf
Prowers Medical Center engaged The CPI Group for master planning at their facility in Lamar, Colorado. Our analysis and engagement with the team at PMC identified a need for three new additions – an expansion of the Emergency Department, new operating rooms for the Surgery Department and a new physical therapy gym to serve the members of the Prowers County community.
Once the needs were understood out of the master planning, CPI was further engaged with Prowers Medical Center to serve as the architect of record and interior designer of the new spaces. In addition to understanding and then developing a design to meet the needs of PMC, The CPI Group is also the Design-Build Construction Manager for the project. Our team is on-site managing the quality control, cost and schedule of the project as a whole including the subcontractors. The new spaces will require specific medical equipment, CPI’s medical equipment planning specialists are integrated with the PMC team to understand the flow of people and supplies through the existing facility and how it will interface with the new additions.
Prowers Medical Center is adding important spaces to their facility to better serve the needs of the rural community. The addition to the Emergency Department will feature a new entrance to help streamline the immediate care needs of the arrivals at the ED. Additional exam rooms are also a part of the new space allowing for more patients needs to be met. The Surgery Department is also getting major upgrades with two new operating rooms in addition to the one that is already at the facility. Currently, pre-op and post-op patients are cared for in one combined location. The new addition creates distinct and separate areas for both pre-op patients and post-op patients; creating a better environment for patients.
