Eric Wilson is president and chief executive officer of The CPI Group, a Denver-based company that provides comprehensive program and project management services for healthcare and high-tech facilities facing complex expansion or relocation projects.
Eric is a multifaceted engineer and manager experienced in many aspects of design, construction and project management with an emphasis on technology solutions for healthcare and high-tech manufacturing facilities. His expertise includes process engineering, efficiency studies, cost analysis, business analysis, conceptual design and program management. His grasp of engineering problem solving techniques and sound business practices helps him find creative solutions to complex challenges in demanding environments.
As the head of The CPI Group, Eric leads the strategic visioning and direction for company, oversees annual business planning and coordination of the executive team, and serves as chief information officer. He offers leadership and mentoring for project managers and manages business partnering, business development and marketing. In addition, he supervises proposal creation and provides executive oversight of active projects and client relations.
Prior to joining The CPI Group in 1998, he worked as director of product development for Pro Star Sports, Inc., where he was responsible for coordinating the company’s restructuring to allow for explosive growth into emerging markets. He also served in various roles at Texas Instruments, Inc., including project manager, dock manager, and process engineer. He attended Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, where he received an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and earned a master’s of science degree in engineering and technology management.
Eric is a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and currently lives in south Denver with his wife Michelle and their two young daughters.
Karl M. Kilgore is a founding principal and director of design services for The CPI Group, a Denver-based company that provides comprehensive program and project management services for healthcare and high-tech facilities facing complex expansion or relocation projects.
Karl has nearly 40 years of experience focused exclusively within the health care design industry. He has extensive experience as a healthcare architect, design specialist consultant, and as the owner’s representative. His primary responsibilities with The CPI Group are for project feasibility studies, programming, master planning, functional planning, equipment planning, and project development. He is a licensed architect with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, is accredited in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and has current licenses in Arizona, California, Colorado, North Dakota, and Texas.
Prior to joining The CPI Group, Karl first worked in Houston with CRS Architects, then in Arizona and California with ADP Architects. He has worked with various healthcare agencies throughout his career including Health Dimensions, Intermountain Health Care, Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, Kaiser Permanente, Catholic Health Initiatives, Veterans Affairs, Palomar/Pomerado District Hospitals, and Catholic Health West. He has also provided project directorship for the FEMA funded Community Hospital Replacement Facility in Watsonville, California, and the Hillcrest Medical Mall in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Karl conducted the Detailed Room by Room Space Program for the complete replacement of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Denver totaling nearly 1.5 million gross square feet. He is also consulted on the new VA design guide templates for ambulatory services. In addition, he provided the programming and master planning concepts for the Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI)/Durango Regional Medical Center. The 255,000 square foot replacement facility and new campus development program catapulted Mercy-Durango from a community hospital to the largest southwest regional medical facility in the state of Colorado with coverage extending into New Mexico and Arizona.
Other master plans recently developed by Karl include Merle West Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon; CHI/St. John Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri; St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, North Dakota; Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, Iowa; and CHI/Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, ACHE[RMH1] , Association of National Account Executives, American Society for Healthcare Engineering, Colorado Association of Healthcare Engineers and Directors, EDAC[RMH2] , LEED-AP[RMH3] , and the National Council for Architectural Registration Boards. He attended the University of Houston where he earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture and graduated with honors.
Karl is a native of Houston, Texas, and currently lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with his wife Linda and their two children.
Mitchell S. Christ is a principal and the director of construction services for The CPI Group, a Denver-based company that provides comprehensive program and project management services for healthcare and high-tech facilities facing complex expansion or relocation projects.
Mitch has been with The CPI Group for more than 17 years. His expertise includes multiple areas of project management encompassing the integration of planning, design-engineering, construction, commissioning, occupancy and ongoing facilities management. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s overall business success and managing the development and implementation of construction services, including design-build and program management services.
Prior to joining The CPI Group, Mitch founded Integrated Companies, served as claims consultant for Kellogg Corporation, and was construction manager for CH2M Hill-IDC. In addition, he worked for Stearns-Rogers Engineering and Construction as construction superintendent and held the post of project controls manager for Litwin Engineers & Constructors.
Mitch is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America. He is a graduate of Colorado State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial construction management.
In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing and working on classic cars. He lives in Littleton, Colorado, with his wife and is the father of two adult children.
Mark Hejtmanek is director of operations for The CPI Group, a Denver-based company that provides comprehensive program and project management services for healthcare and high-tech facilities facing complex expansion or relocation projects.
In his current role, Mark manages the company’s operations personnel and is responsible for the strategic and tactical leadership of service delivery, human relations, and finance and accounting. He established operational processes designed to promote proactive planning for company resource assignments and implemented financial processes to better manage critical business decisions and their impact on job/company cash and profitability. He previously served as project controls manager for The CPI Group where he was responsible for the creation and maintenance of project budgets, master planning schedules, financial reporting, and all accounting processes for a multi-million dollar, multi-year reconstruction project.
Prior to joining The CPI Group in 2007, Mark held various finance management positions with Agilent Technologies Inc. including a two year international assignment, served as a financial operations manager for Hewlett-Packard Company, and started his career at Bechtel Petroleum Inc. He attended Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California where he studied business administration with an emphasis in accounting.
Mark is a certified wine instructor, an executive wine sommelier and owner of Experience Wine, LLC. A native of Santa Rosa, California, he now currently resides in Littleton, Colorado with his wife Jan.
Doug Sinclair is national Building Information Modeling (BIM) director for The CPI Group, a Denver-based company that provides comprehensive program and project management services for healthcare and high-tech facilities facing complex expansion or relocation projects.
Doug has more than 20 years of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction/owner operator industries, including project management, project controls, quality assurance and facilities management. At The CPI Group, he works closely with project executives and project managers to optimize the use of BIM and ensure consistency with the company’s strategic objectives. Other responsibilities include establishing requirements and processes for BIM within the company as well as providing BIM leadership and mentoring.
Before joining The CPI Group, Doug was principal and founder of BIMplicity LLC, a BIM consulting firm. He also founded and served as principal and chief operating officer for Immersivx Inc., a firm specializing in the development and implementation of BIM-based technology throughout the capital lifecycle. Prior to his post at Immersivx Inc., he worked as director of construction industry practices for Total CAD Systems, Inc., an Autodesk Strategic Partner in the greater Houston area.
Doug founded the Associated General Contractors Houston Chapter BIM Leadership Taskforce, and he continues to serve the Houston Chapter as an instructor for the AGC of America BIM Education Program. He is a 12-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he was primary liaison to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command responsible for managing contracts, monitoring costs, and internal quality control.
He is a member of the Associated General Contractors and Society of American Military Engineers. He attended Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration as well as an associate’s degree in management.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, he currently resides in The Woodlands, Texas, with his wife Jessica and their four children.
