Colorado Springs, ColoradoAgilent Technologies occupies three buildings on its large campus in Colorado Springs. The CPI Group was retained as the overall program management firm for the Colorado Springs Upgrade Program (CSUP) which began in August 2007. Our team includes the main program manager, project controls manager, construction manager, and personnel for communications, document controls, and equipment planning. Seemingly simple – consolidate and upgrade all site operations from three building into one – the actual program scope is extremely varied due to the nature of Agilent’s operations:
CPI’s responsibilities for CSUP include the overall leadership and guidance of the teams, program cost and schedule control including cost segregation, design reviews, cost estimating, constructor RFP and interview, and construction management/Owner’s representative during the build-outs.
Working on-site as part of the Owner’s daily facilities management staff, our team has successfully built relationships across all levels of personnel – from upper level executive management down through the engineers and technicians. This conscious effort at cultivating interactions has lead to an unprecedented level of communication with the Agilent community, including a public program communications area, a dynamic website built by CPI and deployed on the company’s intranet, and quarterly presentations by our team to the site business groups.
All of this is accomplished while maintaining a respect for business operations and minimizing interruptions. Our team is looking forward to successfully completing construction over the coming 18-24 months and providing Agilent an engineering environment suitable for its next generation of products.
