In 2007, Keysight Technologies, then Agilent Technologies, retained The CPI Group as the overall program management firm for the Colorado Springs Upgrade Program (CSUP) which began in August 2007. Keysight Technologies occupies three buildings on its large campus in Colorado Springs. While on the surface CSUP was seemingly simple – consolidate and upgrade all site operations from three building into one, the actual program scope was extremely varied due to the nature of Keysight’s operations. And since 2007, the program has morphed based on changing business conditions and now encompasses the entire site. The CPI Group continues to work in partnership with Keysight’s facilities management staff to meet their ongoing needs to upgrade the Colorado Springs facility.
The upgrade program has included work such as:
Upgrading the general office environment for over 200,000 sf of occupied space.
Constructing a new prototyping and light manufacturing cleanroom facility.
Renovating numerous campus infrastructure systems such as incoming electrical feeds and both storm and sanitary sewers.
CPI’s responsibilities included the overall leadership and guidance of the teams, program cost and schedule control including cost segregation, design reviews, cost estimating, constructor RFP and interview, and construction management program manager / owner’s representative during the build-outs.
Working on-site as part of the client’s daily facilities management staff, our team successfully built relationships across all levels of personnel – from upper level executive management down through the engineers and technicians. This conscious effort at cultivating interactions has led to an unprecedented level of communication with the Keysight team. All of this was accomplished while maintaining a respect for business operations and minimizing interruptions.
